Participating events will be Falmouth Classics, Dartmouth Classics and Fowey Classics. The entry criteria for the series will be the same as those for the individual regattas, but eligible vessels should have a minimum LOD of 18ft with keels or drop keels – dinghies are not eligible. The results for the Series are based on the points scored in each individual regatta and combined to identify the best performing yachts overall. Prizes will be presented at the end of the season at a prize-giving dinner.
Dates for 2020 are:
Falmouth Classics: June 12 -14 (concurrent with the Sea Shanty Festival)
Dartmouth Classics: June 27 – 28 (further information is here)
Fowey Classics: July 28 – 31
These events are held annually, although Dartmouth is combined with the first weekend of the Classic Channel Regatta every other year. It is hoped that additional Classic Regattas will be created or revived in future to join the West Country Classic Series.
Further details will be available as they are released. We hope that the creation of the West Country Classic Series will encourage yachts and their crews to participate in as many of the individual regattas as possible in order to compete for the Series prizes.
