Royal Dart Yacht Club Rules

The Royal Dart Yacht Club expects all members, guests and visitors to abide by all the traditional rules and courtesies and moreover when racing to race in the Corinthian spirit.

Dress Code

The Royal Dart Yacht Club is a relaxed private members club, though we do request that members and visitors wear suitable attire for the surroundings whilst recognising that we are a functioning sailing club.

During the daytime we operate a casual dress code encouraging a relaxed approach. Providing it does not offend other members or contravene our club rules, it is likely to be acceptable. Please remember that topless attire will not be acceptable in any social parts of the Club.

Social events advertised on the Club website will normally make clear when a particular dress code is advised, for instance Smart Casual, Yachting No.1s or Black Tie. Please keep in mind that we ask Gentlemen not to wear headgear in the clubhouse in the evening.

You can read our full Dress Guidance Notice here.

Flag Etiquette

Members are entitled to fly the Royal Dart Yacht Club defaced ensign, provided they also fly the club burgee – please see our Club History page to read about the granting of the Royal charter. Ensigns and burgees can be ordered from the club office.
